Hi I’m Kayla!
I’m an illustrator based in Savannah, Georgia, where I’m pursuing a degree in Illustration with a concentration in Surface Design and a minor in Animated Illustration and Publication. My work is shaped by my love of storytelling, color, and shape language, drawing inspiration from my own life—from my childhood spent catching frogs and riding bikes in Washington state, to my teen years exploring choir and theatre, to my studies in the vibrant city of Savannah.
My work is versatile, spanning surface design for apparel, stationery, interiors, and packaging; hand lettering; illustration for publication; concept design for characters, environments, and props; and short form animation. While I primarily work digitally, I emphasize traditional texture and the “human-made” qualities that give each piece warmth and authenticity.
I pride myself on being adaptable: I can create everything from simple, childlike illustrations to detailed, anatomically accurate designs. My skills extend beyond artistry—I bring communication, leadership, and time management to every project, making me equally comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
Above all, I approach illustration with discipline, professionalism, and passion. I am committed to producing work that not only meets deadlines but also reflects my highest level of creativity and craftsmanship.
Outside of the studio, I balance my love of creating with time spent reading late into the night, crocheting (badly), my recent discovery of the joys of napping in a hammock, and doting on my little dog, Chewie. My family, friends, and partner are at the center of my life, and I strive to bring that same sense of care, joy, and balance into my work.
Let’s work together!
